Tool use, safety, and selection:
This is a personal lesson set with a trained instructor. Students will be guided through basic tool use and situations with emphasis on safety and tool mechanics. All tools and materials will be provided by an instructor.
Duration: 5 weeks, 1 day a week each class 1.5hr (90 min) flexible times
Setting: outdoor, garage, parking lot or personal driveway
How to prepare: long pants, closed toe shoes
Safety- P.P.E. (Personal Protection Equipment) safety glasses, gloves, etc.
Hand tools:
-tape measure
-level
-square
-clamps
-hammer, learn the types of hammers, we will practice nailing boards, pulling them out and straightening nails out
-screw drivers, types and situations
-pliers and wrenches, practice with nuts and bolts
-hand saw, cut boards to length, drywall knife
Power Tools:
-drill and screw guns, make holes, screw boards, and tighten nuts
-skill saw, cut wood, metal, and hardie board, switch blades
-saw saw, type of blades, practice cutting wood, metal, and branches
-cut off wheel, grinder cut metal, bolts, and screws, change blades
-multi tool, small cuts and blade switch
On the last day we will have a Surprise Project!
